Namhae

Namhae, Korea's "Treasure Island": feeding sheep at a seaside farm, quiet traditional villages and sea views - slow travel at its most peaceful.

Namhae is called Korea’s “Treasure Island”, and it earns the name quietly. No crowds, no big sights ticking past, just sea, hills, and the kind of calm that makes you walk slower without deciding to.

Our walk took us to a seaside farm where we fed sheep and bunnies with the water glittering behind them, through quiet traditional villages where the loudest sound was the wind, and back to a room with a view we didn’t want to close the curtains on.

We filmed it as a pure slow-travel piece, no commentary, just the authentic vibes of the Korean countryside for two and a half unhurried minutes. If your Korea itinerary is all cities, Namhae is the antidote: pair it with Busan and Jinju for a southern loop that shows you a completely different side of the country.

Two more trips to this stretch of the south coast made it into the camera roll: a very unusual day on the water in July 2024, and a January 2025 stay with a window we still think about.
